National Western Stock Show

Its been awhile since my first post so I figured it was time to catch everyone up on what has been going on these past couple of weeks. It only takes two words to describe why I haven't had the time to update this blog: Stock Show.

For those of you who don't know the National Western Stock Show takes place here in Denver and runs for most of the month of January. I have been attending the NWSS on and off for the past 10 years and this year not only did I have show cattle on the hill, but I also had the honor of working for the photography company Show Champions doing marketing/sales and assisting photographers throughout the different shows.

This years stock show is one that is going down in the history books for me. In the open Shorthorn show I showed the Reserve National Champion Bull. Not only was this our first national champion that we have shown, what made it more exciting was that the bull, "LBB Sonny California 07 ET," was raised by us! I can't even begin to describe how excited we all were after getting the champion slap and hand shake from the judge. Afterwards we celebrated with steaks and good wine at the Denver Chophouse with our good friends the Williams and Neumayrs.

Now that stock is over it has left with a little reminder of the hard work of the past tw
o weeks...the dreaded crud.
Life is slowly getting back to normal and I will ma
ke sure and keep you all up to date with the happenings that are taking place.

Kick-off

Starting a blog is something that I have always wanted to do, but I just have never gotten one started. So tonight while I am watching the national champion football game and putting off doing my homework I figured I might as well get one started. Since I live so far away from my family I figured this would be a good way for everyone to stay caught up with me and all my fabulousness.

This week I started my last class ever of my student career! Sounds awesome doesn't it? Well not so much. Although its my last class the hardest part is left to come: The dreaded thesis. I have been really struggling with my topic but I am leaning towards the topic of how using Internet marketing through social networks it can benefit small businesses...any thoughts? All comments, criticisms, and suggestions accepted!

Not only has my week involved the start of classes it has also brought arctic temperatures that have me begging to get back the warmer climates of home in California. Everyone at home may be dealing with fog but I will take it over the snow, wind, ice, and single digits! Since I just got back to this arctic tundra after spending two amazing weeks at home it has me begging to go back! You can take the girl out of California, but you can't take California out of the girl...and I'm not made for these cold temperatures! I'm just hoping that it warms up before next weekend when I will be spending all my time at the National Western Stock Show. I don't think I own enough layers to keep me warm if the temperatures stay this way through next week...a shopping trip may be required if thats the case.

This is all I have for now...so till next time!
